Leyland Band present an evening of bespoke music to celebrate the centenary of the Royal British Legion
The British Legion was formed on 15th May 1921, bringing together four
national organisations of ex-Servicemen that had established themselves
after the World War One:
The National Association of Discharged Sailors and Soldiers, The British
National Federation of Discharged and Demobilized Sailors and Soldiers,
The Comrades of The Great War, and The Officers’ Association.
The Royal British Legion (‘Royal’ being added in 1971) was established to
care for those who had suffered as a result of active service and they have
been helping the Armed Forces community and their families ever since.
Through fundraising with campaigns such as the Poppy Appeal, the Royal
British Legion is there to help serving and ex-serving personnel all year
round, every day of the week.
