LEYLAND BAND OPEN NEW CONCERT SEASON in

PARBOLD, LANCASHIRE on SATURDAY 24 SEPTEMBER, 7.45pm

Gershwin and The Roaring ‘20s with David Daniels, piano

Parbold Douglas Music’s 2022/23 season opens with a very welcome return visit from one of the country’s finest brass ensembles, The Leyland Band. The multi-award-winning group will perform a joyful selection of music on the theme of The Roaring ‘20s, from Irving Berlin to Cole Porter and George Gershwin. Well-known favourites such as Anything Goes and Singin’ in the Rain, plus a performance of Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue performed by pianist David Daniels, are certain to give the 2022/23 season the rousing start it deserves.

All concerts take place at Parbold Village Hall WN8 7DN [Free parking] where Parbold Douglas Music presents an annual series of concerts featuring world class musicians. The Auditorium boasts an impressively intimate concert hall where audiences can get thrillingly close to performers.

update 29th November 2023 – It is with heavy hearts and apologies that we report that the start of our annual Christmas performances, Festive Brass is cancelled at short notice.

The Band received news yesterday 28th November 2023, that significant structural issues in the ceiling of the Lancastrian Suite at Chorley Town Hall have been identified and all forthcoming events there have been cancelled on safety grounds.

An immediate search for an alternative venue in the area has been unsuccessful.

The Band will of course offer full refunds to the many who have booked in advance.
