Following the intensity of band’s appearance at the finals of the National Brass Band Championships, October provides a chance to see Leyland in concert with four diverse offerings.
Tatham
On Saturday 20th October, Leyland’s 10 piece ensemble conducted by Thomas Wyss, will perform again in the ancient and intimate St James The Less Church in Tatham near Lancaster. This will the band’s 3rd visit to Tatham and a firm favourite for audience and band alike.
Stoller Hall
The day after, Sunday 21st October, the full band will perform with the Fairey Band in a special joint concert at the Stoller Hall, Manchester. Guest soloist will be Matilda Lloyd (trumpet), who won the BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award. The concert will be conducted by Frank Renton.
Leyland
On Thursday 25th October, the band return to Leyland for one of the regular and most popular home town concerts in St Andrew’s Church, conducted by Thomas Wyss.
Workington
The month ends with another regular appearance, this on Sunday 28th October, the band travels north to Cumbria for a wonderful matinee concert in the fabulous setting of St John’s Church, Workington.
