Innsbruck beckons for Leyland Band as its summer Austrian adventure awaits. The band will fly out to Munich for onward travel to Innsbruck on the 28th July and perform that evening at the Imperial Palace.
Conducted by Thomas Wyss, Leyland will present a two hour concert as part of the Innsbruck Promenade Concert Series. Following the band’s debut appearance in Innsbruck in 2015, we are delighted to have been invited to perform again in 2017. The program is built around themed sets taking in old England music, classical brass, brass on Broadway and Leyland at the movies.

Four of the band’s soloists will feature in the concert. Principal Cornet Iain Culross will perform Del Staeger’s arrangement of the Carnival of Venice, and Principal Euphonium James McLeod will play Monti’s Czardas. The band’s flugel maestro John Doyle, will take to the trumpet in theย fantastic show melody, People.ย Principal Tuba Chris Doran will present more fireworks as the evening draws dark with the upbeat arrangement of The Sun Has Got His Hat On.
