Bill Carter – Leyland’s Bb Bass maestro – has been voted “Player of the Year” by the band’s Patrons. (25/03/18)

 

 

Not just a stalwart of the band, with over 30 years of service, Bill is a fantastic player and soloist combining great musicianship with a wonderful sense of fun. A music teacher by profession, he is equally popular in the band as with the Patrons and we are delighted he has been recognised in the Patrons vote.

Bill received the award at the annual exclusive Patrons concert, where over 200 Patrons and their guests were entertained by the band and even treated to one of Bill’s trademark solo offerings, “Bombasto“. Special mention must also go to Principal Cornet Iain Culross for his brilliant performance of “Rusalka’s Song To the Moon” and Soprano Cornet James Nash for an equally outstanding performance of “On With The Motley“.
