Leyland Band were back in the studio over the weekend of 21st & 22nd October to record the 3rd CD of the popular “In Concert” series featuring a great selection of music. Following the success of volumes 1 and 2, volume 3 has been commissioned by popular demand and will be launched in 2018.
Featured soloists are James Nash (Soprano) performing the James Bond classic “Live and Let Die”; Iain Culross (Principal Cornet) plays a brand new arrangement of Herbert L Clarke’s “From the Shores of the Mighty Pacific”; another new work features John Doyle (Flugel) in “Only In Sleep” by Eriks Esenvalds; James McLeod (Principal Euphonium) contributes “Neath Dublin Skies” by Paul Lovatt-Cooper; and Bb Bass maestro Bill Carter performs “The Ploughboy” showing that even a Bb bass can carry a melody brilliantly in the right hands.
Musical Director Thomas Wyss has drawn together a program of music encompassing the traditional – “Entry of the Gladiators” – to the debut recordings of “What Now My Love” and “Meadowland”.
