PARBOLD, LANCASHIRE on SATURDAY 24 SEPTEMBER, 7.45pm
Gershwin and The Roaring ‘20s with David Daniels, piano
Parbold Douglas Music’s 2022/23 season opens with a very welcome return visit from one of the country’s finest brass ensembles, The Leyland Band. The multi-award-winning group will perform a joyful selection of music on the theme of The Roaring ‘20s, from Irving Berlin to Cole Porter and George Gershwin. Well-known favourites such as Anything Goes and Singin’ in the Rain, plus a performance of Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue performed by pianist David Daniels, are certain to give the 2022/23 season the rousing start it deserves.
All concerts take place at Parbold Village Hall WN8 7DN [Free parking] where Parbold Douglas Music presents an annual series of concerts featuring world class musicians. The Auditorium boasts an impressively intimate concert hall where audiences can get thrillingly close to performers.

Coronation Big Lunch, Avenham Park, May 7
Grab your picnic hamper and Union Jack flags and head down to the centre Preston park and raise a toast to His Majesty The King.
From 10:00am to 4:00pm visitors are invited to tuck into butter pies, quiche and a glass of fizz while taking in live music and performances from Leyland Band 10 piece ensemble, One Voice Community Choir, Preston City Mela, Caribbean Carnival, and singer Hattie Bee.
There will also be fairground rides and stalls from Preston Market. Just don’t forget your picnic blanket.
