The Royal British Legion celebrates its centenary anniversary
The British Legion was formed on 15th May 1921, bringing together four national organisations of ex-Servicemen that had established themselves after the World War One: The National Association of Discharged Sailors and Soldiers, The British National Federation of Discharged and Demobilized Sailors and Soldiers, The Comrades of The Great War, and The Officers’ Association.
Leyland Band, in the presence of the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Rt. Hon. Sir Lindsay Hoyle, MP, presented a bespoke concert which included a special performance of “The British Legion” march written by Thomas Bidgood:-
