Leyland finally Celebrates 800 years of ‘our’ Church

Leyland Band present a very unique concert of music in recognition of the 800th anniversary of St Andrew’s Church – “Out Town Our Church”. Originally planned pre-COVID, the church commissioned the band to perform largely devotional music.

Blessed Assurance

The programme is based on choices made by the parishioners of both Leyland’s St. Andrew’s and St. Mary’s churches (and also part of “Churches Together”), who requested a devotional theme to celebrate 800 years of Christian Ministry in the town. They also asked for the two marches, “Royal Tiger” and “Richard Evans” to reflect the town and the band’s connection with the Motor trade and Richard’s efforts in taking the “Leyland” name around the Globe.
