Leyland’s popular “Romance In Brass” concert series goes to East Lancashire when the band take the stage in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MDNA) charity on the 11th February 2017.
The Central and East Lancashire MND Support Group presents “Romance in Brass” at the Oswaldtwistle Civic Arts Centre and Theatre. The group is raising funding for MDNA to support local people with equipment and other needs, as well as regular donations to the national Association to fund ongoing research. This is the band’s first venture with MNDA, adding it to the growing list of worthwhile charities benefitting by engaging Leyland to perform fund raising concerts.
MND is a fatal rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, attacking nerves that control movement. It kills a third of people diagnosed with in MND within year of diagnosis, and half within two years. It affects up to 5000 adults in the UK at any one time, and an average of 6 people die every day from its effects. The MND Association is the only charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focussed on MND care, research and campaigning.
