Sam joined Leyland in May 2017 at the age of 18. He began his playing career at the age of 8 and played with a number of bands in his development including the Fodens Youth Band, Haslingden and Helmshore Band where he was principal cornet and from the age of 15 with the Wingates Band where he rose to be assistant principal cornet.

He studied at the famous Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, and is equally accomplished on cornet or trumpet. We are delighted to have his talents at Leyland.
