Thomas Wyss signs off a successful period with Leyland

Renowned Musical Director Thomas Wyss steps down from his role as Conductor of the Leyland Band, a partnership which has thrived for the last eight years.

Under Tom’s direction, Leyland have flourished on the contest stage with top six finishes in the British Open, the National Championships of Great Britain and Brass in Concert. Tom’s musical interpretations have consistently guided the band into the qualification places at the North West Area contest in recent times, allowing the band to return to the Royal Albert Hall year on year.

Tom built a fantastic rapport with audiences across Lancashire and beyond, particularly at the band’s regular local concert series in Chorley. He also directed Leyland in a number of highly commended international concerts to sell out audiences at the Imperial Palace in Innsbruck, Austria.
