2017

Happy New Year to all!

All at Leyland Band wish you a happy, healthy and successful New Year in 2017.

The band are looking forward to another busy year of fantastic music making with concerts across the United Kingdom and abroad with an exciting return to Innsbruck, Austria.

Leyland Band at the Imperial Palace, Innsbruck

With two confirmed recording projects and competition appearances at the North West Area Championships, the British Open Championships and Brass In Concert, Leyland will be working hard under the fantastic direction of Thomas Wyss.

The Leyland Band 2016 Matinee Concert Series was the most successful yet, and we will continue to build on that in the new year, with a stella collaborative line up including, for the first time the wonderful University of Central Lancashire Chamber Choir.

Leyland will also strengthen its links with the Lancashire Youth Brass Band and Red Admiral Music Academy with joint concerts already in the 2017 calendar, and we are working on new exciting partnerships for later in the year and 2018.

Supporting charitable fundraising is a constant feature of the band’s workload and included in 2017 will be events in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and St Rocco’s Hospice amongst other deserving causes.

Musical Director Thomas Wyss is continuing to develop the band’s brilliant repertoire with an eclectic mix of traditional, themed, engaging and bespoke music for all occasions. And the band’s fantastic young soloists will again feature heavily throughout the year, enhancing theirs and the band’s deserved reputation for quality music making.

We have a limited number of available dates for bookings in the second half of 2017, and are also taking advance bookings for 2018 and beyond. Watch out for new engagements and projects as we confirm future dates.

It’s a pleasure to offer our very best wishes to all our friends and supporters for a happy new  year.
