On the weekend in which Leyland made it back into the top ten of the 4Barsrest world rankings, the band took to the studio to record the latest in the “Leyland in Concert“ series, Blue, featuring classic arrangements, fabulous solos and new band works.
The 17 items chosen by musical director Thomas Wyss included music from Leyland’s last two Brass in Concert programs including “Blue” and “The Beauty of Blue” from the 2014 program, and “Intrada – Ein Feste Burg“, “Faith Of Our Fathers” and Leyland’s latest commissioned work “Sprites and Flares” from the 2015 program.
Pete Shaw (Principal Cornet), John Doyle (Flugel), James McLeod (Solo Euphonium) and Chris Doran (Solo Eb Tuba) are the featured soloists.
