Dan Moore Dan’s musical journey began aged six when he started to learn the piano, which quickly progressed into a love for brass playing. He began to make his mark early on, being appointed as Principal Euphonium of the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain for two years.

With brass bands always high on the family agenda, Dan joined his local band, Poulton-le-Fylde Band, where he played Principal Euphonium for almost 10 years in both the 1st and Championship sections.

In 2012, Dan was awarded a place to study Music at the University of Oxford, graduating with BA (Hons) in 2015. Whilst at Oxford, Dan was awarded a scholarship which saw him record a number of choral CDs and play the organ alongside his academic studies, specialising in research. He also managed to find time to conduct the Oxford University Brass Band, which led to performances at UniBrass.

Since leaving university, Dan has returned to his home town and works for a global marketing business. In addition he is also Director of Music at St Nicholas’ Church in the Lancashire village of Wrea Green, and documents his wedding work on Instagram (@danmoore.pianist).

Dan joined Leyland in March 2017 and looks after the majority of the band’s social media.
