Leyland Band and Stockport Schools Brass Band are coming together on Saturday 26th March for a special joint matinee concert in the magnificent St Georges Church, Stockport.
Stockport Schools Brass Band (SSBB) is the Brass Ensemble provision in Stockport, Greater Manchester. They provide opportunities for players in the Stockport area to learn to play a brass instrument and to play in one of bands. They take players from the age of 6 years to 19 years old irrespective of ability. Their ensembles showcase some of the best young brass musicians of the future.
The first half of the concert will be performancesby each of the SSBB bands, which will showcasethe talented young musicians from acrossStockport.The second half will be Leyland Band followed bya massed band item with over 70 players joiningto perform an arrangement of the beautiful hymnDeep Harmony (Sweet is the work, my God, my King).
