Allan Littlemore steps down from role after years of outstanding service.

After many years of outstanding service and commitment, Allan Littlemore has stepped down from the role, and continues to provide great support and valued guidance. The band were unanimous in approaching Richard to ask him to undertake this important role whilst continuing to be the bands Conductor Emeritus.

Richard Evans is one the brass band movements greatest musicians and entertainers and enjoys friendships all over the musical world. He is regular visitor to the band and offers advice, guidance and leadership to the band. He is also very much connected to the bands own North West Youth Brass Band. We are delighted he has accepted the position of President.

 

Richard commented – “It is with great pleasure and pride that I accept the position of President of Leyland Band. The term ‘full circle’ certainly applies here as it was some 63 years ago I became a playing member of this wonderful band. From 1978 to 2000 I was the band’s full time Musical Director and now, as President, I will do all in my power to maintain the high standards this great band holds so dear”.

 

The band’s current Musical Director Thomas Wyss added – ”I have known Richard for many years and admired his wonderful career and dedication to Leyland Band, and I am very looking forward to collaborating with him to further the band going forward”.
