Zoe Leaves For Norway

Leyland’s 2nd Horn secures scholarship in Norway.

Shortly after achieving excellent GCSE results, Zoe has secured a year long scholarship in Norway.

Earlier this year, she spotted an internet advert for tenor horn players to join the prestigious Manger Folkehogskule’s – a one year specialist brass band course in Norway. Zoe will be principal horn of the 70 strong band and will receive over 20 hours of music tuition each week including composition, conducting and working with visiting specialist teachers.

The school , around an hour from Bergen is in a beautiful area near the Norweigan Fjords and attracts musicians from far afield.

Zoe will take a gap year from her studies before auditioning for entry to the Royal Northern College of Music. Her final outing with the band will be at the British Open Championship’s on September 5th.

Everyone at Leyland wishes Zoe luck in her future endeavours.
